The River Nile is very important to the Egyptians. The main industries are agriculture, tourism and textiles, especially cotton. The country is famous for its ancient history and for the pyramids. The remains of these great cultural monuments are tourists’ favorite places to visit. The main language is Arabic and the main religion is Islam. About 10% of Egyptians are Christians. The most popular sport in Egypt is soccer. The capital city is Cairo in the northeast. In Cairo, there are old marketplaces called bazaars.
