Breaking Up Is Hard to Do: Girls Share Their It’s-So-Over Stories Like, really hard.
Art by Ashley Minette Kasey M., 19, from North Carolina
“In April, I broke up with my boyfriend of 10 months. I really wanted to be independent, so I made up a bunch of excuses about why I didn’t love him anymore. Over the next month I made some poor choices that I’ll regret forever, which made me realize my mistake in breaking things off. I talked with him about it, and we decided to get back together. I definitely learned that breaking up with someone you care for hurts just as badly as being broken up with! If we had just sat down and really discussed it, things wouldn’t have gone how they did.”
