FLORENCE IN A FLASH
Florence could keep you busy for half a year, but if you’ve only got half a day,
you need to choose carefully.
The Uffi zi Gallery is a must. It has some wonderful paintings. Afterwards visit the cathedral, which is a building dating back to 1420 and which has one of the biggest domes in the world. Then walk down to the Ponte Vecchio, a lovely 14 th century bridge over the river Arno.
Florence is also famous for its shopping and the Ponte Vecchio is a great place to start as it’s lined with gold shops which sell lovely jewellery. Elsewhere there are lots of leather shops which sell wonderful designer shoes and handbags.
When you leave, don’t worry about what you’ve missed — everyone comes back.
